Westonia

The Westonia and Carrabin mail run was established in 1911, this building was established in 1917 when the Westonia mines were running to full capacity.
The building was dismantled from Kookynie and reerecteed in Westonia.
Mail delivery to the local community first occurred in 1916. It ceased to exist as a Post Office in 1948 and was purchased as a residence in 1949 by Dora and William Henderson.
In 1986 it was sold to Australian Consolidated Minerals as a residence for the miners when the Edna May Gold Mine was reopened.
On closure of the mine it was donated to the curtin University to be used for accommodation for their students.
